Corpse Plant – Marie Selby Botanical Gardens

This image was captured while visiting Marie Selby Botanical Gardens,  Tropical Conservatory, Sarasota, Florida in August of 2016. The bloom lasts about 24 hours, so thanks to the FaceBook page for the gardens we were able to arrive at the gardens about two hours from the posting time. Because this is such an unusual event the gardens stayed open until 9:00 instead of closing at its normal time of 5:00.

Frog and Dragon (Unlit)

Festival of Light at the Missouri Botanical Garden is impressive even when seen during the day. Here we see a frog and a dragon in a small pond.

Savannah Sparrow Perched On Lupine

Many of the areas that we hiked in Unalaska, Alaska were covered with Lupine and we could see Savannah Sparrows feeding on them. Thought that you might enjoy seeing the sparrow against a purple background.Savannah Sparrow among purple flowersImage Captured with a Nikon D7200 Camera, Nikon 300 mm f/2.8 lens and a Nikon TC-14E II 1.4 teleconverter, focal Length 420 mm, ISO 800, 1/320 sec at f/6.3, hand held.

Flowers Anchorage Alaska

While walking through a park in downtown Anchorage we saw many eye catching flowers and these are the most stunning in my opinion. I used Photoshop CC 2014 to create the image using four individual images.Four Flowers
