This image was captured while visiting Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in July of 2016. I find the image interesting because the cloud formations in the background show the typical coastal weather in Florida, It was late morning and the heat of the day was building, causing the winds to come off the Gulf on the left while the moist air is carried aloft building rain clouds over the land as seen on the right. I have included two images one framed and one without a frame for your viewing pleasure.
While visiting Bellevue, Iowa we had the opportunity to watch a Towboat and its barges finishing going through Lock 12 and watched it depart to continue its trip down the Mississippi River.

These floating homes do not have motors so they are not considered boats. You can see two of the pilings that hold the home permanently in place along the bank. If you are interested you can actually rent one for a stay in Apalachicola, Florida.

On Baranof Island, Alaska, you can hike up a trail from Warm Springs Bay to Baranof Lake. Water from the lake flows down a waterfall to the bay. There are no roads to the lake so the boat and motor had to be carried up a trail to get to the lake. (HDR Image)

On a clear day in Petersburg, Alaska you can see snow capped mountains as you look across the harbor. The water in the harbor is low, soon the tide will be in covering the brown area in the foreground and floating the boats and piers currently aground. It is early July and the fishing season is just beginning.

We were able to approach a couple of trawlers pulling in their seines and watch them bring in their catch of Salmon. Many of the boats are family operations and as you can see here, even the women go to sea when its time to fish. It was surprising to see how many women there were in the fishing fleet.
