Buttercup

In many areas along the trail in Warren Dunes State Park, we saw groups of bright yellow buttercups shining in the sun.

White Trillium

The trails in Warren Dunes State Park passed through large area filled with White Trillium, contrasting with the deep hues of brown on the forest floor.

Broad-winged Hawk Soaring

While walking the trails in Potato Creek State Park, Indiana, we saw this Broad-winged Hawk fly overhead several times and captured this image.

Hepatica

The forest floor at Warren Dunes State Park is colorful in April with a wide variety of wildflowers including these Hepatica.

Barges and Towboat Leaving Lock 12

While visiting Bellevue, Iowa we had the opportunity to watch a Towboat and its barges finishing going through Lock 12 and watched it depart to continue its trip down the Mississippi River.

Brown Thrasher

There are a few Brown Thrashers here in Warren Dunes State Park that will pose for us on occasion in trees and not just on the ground.

Eastern Towhee (Male)

This Towhee was whisling away, I could not find him for a long time, but finally spotted him high in a tree and captured this image while visiting Warren Dunes State Park, Michigan.
