This is an HDR image of our canal boat crossing the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, traveling to Chirk from Llangollen, on the Llangollen Canal, in Wales. The 11 foot wide aqueduct was completed in 1805, crossing 126 feet above the River Dee.(Images captured May 2011)
Image Captured with a Nikon D300 Camera, Sigma 10.0-20.0 mm f/4.0-5.6 lens, focal length 20 mm, ISO 400, 1/60 sec at f/22. Three images were captured, the base image, images 2 f-stops above and below the base image setting and then combined into this HDR image using Photomatix Pro 5.

On a trip to Scotland in 2011we stayed for a few days in this Gatehouse on Ardverikie, Estate, near Cairngorm National Park. It is the gatehouse seen in the BBC series “Monarch of the Glen” and the estate “Glenbogle” The original HDR image has been very popular on our travel blog, so I decided to redo the image and share it with you.
