Red and Yellow Rose

Yesterday we visited Harry P Leu Gardens in the Orlando, Florida area to capture images with Arnold Dubin, one of our photography friends. He told us that we needed to go by the Rose Gardens to see what might be blooming. We thought, “It is almost July, temperatures have been in the 90 degrees range for weeks so the roses are bound to be at the end of life if blooming at all.”  Much to our surprise there were hundreds of rose blooms in the garden, showing off their beautiful colors. This is one of the many roses that we saw, hope you enjoy it.Red and Yellow Rose Bloom

Panting Heron in wetlands

While visiting Egan’s Creek Greenway, Fernandina Beach, Florida we spotted this Little Blue Heron standing on a snag in the wetlands. It was panting like a dog, this image shows it with its mouth open and its tongue out, similar to a dog on a hot day. I didn’t realize that birds panted to cool off, so I thought it was an interesting discovery.Little Blue Heron on a snag
